WSJ learned about developing a Facebook application for sharing photos and videos

Company Facebook is developing a standalone app to encourage users to create and share photos and videos, writes The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the matter.

According to them, a prototype application developed by a team of friendly Facebook-like service Snapchat disappearing photos. In addition it provides the ability to broadcast video users.

The project is at an early stage and may not be implemented, the sources say.

Work on the new project reflects the concerns of Facebook about more passive user behavior in a social network, says WSJ. Many users of Facebook daily or even several times a day go to your page, but share photos, videos and update your status.
