Social network “Schoolmates” within a month will launch a mobile app for messaging “OK Message”, told RBC press Secretary of “Schoolmates” Anastasia zhbanova.
The service is already being tested in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, where Odnoklassniki is the most popular social network, and to the Russian market, the messenger will be released within a month. “We focus on tests in other countries. Once they’ve gone, run [“OK Message”] in Russia,” Zhbanov said. Investment in the project the representative of the “Classmates” does not open.
Rival services WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook Messenger from Russian social networks is completely free and contains advertising. In addition to Russian language users “OK Message” can communicate in English, Uzbek and Tajik languages.
“OK Messages” allow you to chat with your friends from Odnoklassniki, and to invite in the chat rooms people from the phone book in your smartphone. At the time of testing, the app is only available for Android devices, later there will be version for iOS operating system from Apple. The messenger is available in both individual and group chats, in which users can share photos, videos, audio and gifs, said the representative of the social network.
“OK Message” is aimed to work on mobile devices: most functions work without Internet connection — users have access to all correspondence, and media files, and messages drafted offline are sent automatically after the network access.
64% of the audience “Classmates” come to the social network from mobile devices, daily mobile audience is 27 million users, while the monthly total is 73 million (according to data from the company itself). According to the statistics service Liveinternet, the audience “Classmates” in March 2016 amounted to 50 million users.
Odnoklassniki, which is owned by Internet holding Mail.ru Group, will become the first Russian social network, which will launch its own messenger. Previously on a similar product was announced by the representatives of the most popular Russian social network “Vkontakte” (also owned by Mail.ru Group).
