“VKontakte” declared itself the largest instant messenger in Russia

Social network “Vkontakte”, 100% owned by Internet holding Mail.ru Group, became the largest instant messenger in Russia, says the report of the group.

The number of messages that users of the social network send each other daily, in 2015 reached 5 billion units, up 68% more than in 2014. Monthly active users (MAU) Vkontakte in March for the first time exceeded 90 million users, 78% of social network users come from mobile devices.

The social network, in which the annual accounts Mail.ru Group was first fully consolidated, was the fastest growing asset — as at the end of 2015 and first quarter 2016.
