In the Crimea opened a criminal case against the journalist of “Radio Liberty”

The Department of the FSB in the Crimea opened a criminal case against the journalist of the portal “Crimea.Realities” (project “Radio Liberty”), informed the Prosecutor of the Crimea Natalia Polonskaya.

According to her, proceedings were instituted on suspicion of incitement to violation of territorial integrity of Russia with the use of mass media (part 2 of article 280.1 of the criminal code). The journalist’s name in respect of which the FSB opened a case, Polonskaya did not name.

“This journalist has been prepared and published an article which contained statements aimed at disrupting the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation that is not permissible neither journalists nor anybody else,” said the Prosecutor of the Crimea (quoted by TASS).

She clarified that the publication was devoted to the blockade of the Crimea Ukrainian activists. According to the Prosecutor, such materials in the Crimea is regarded as a justification of terrorism.

“In fact, they justify the actions of extremists and terrorists. We will not allow to commit crimes against citizens of the Russian Federation and Russia in General. The status of journalists obliged to comply with the legislation”, said the Prosecutor.

Poklonskaya said that the investigation is taken on control by Prosecutor’s office of Crimea. “At present the issue of election of a measure of restraint for the journalist,” she added.
