Rosselkhoznadzor allowed a ban on the importation of eggplant from Turkey

Russia has grounds for a ban on the importation of eggplant from Turkey. About TASS said the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert.

Answering the question, decide whether the authority to expand the list of prohibited for phytosanitary reasons, products from Turkey, the official said: “we have reason to close the [import] eggplant”.

According to officials, he does not know to what date may be prohibited from import, but stressed that the results of monitoring “we have every reason to close”.

On 16 March, the Rosselkhoznadzor on phytosanitary considerations prohibited the import of Turkish peppers and pomegranates. Prior to that, from 1 January 2016, in Russia as sanctions against Turkey following the attacks on the su-24 was banned the import of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, cauliflower, broccoli, fresh and dried oranges, mandarins and their hybrids, as well as fresh apples, pears, apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums and sloe. Grocery embargo has also spread to the berries — grapes, strawberries, and strawberries.
