The mayor of Grozny has offered to draw the new banknotes mosque “Heart of Chechnya”

Mosque “Heart of Chechnya” named after Akhmad-Hadji Kadyrov in Grozny worthy to be depicted on the new banknotes. This opinion was expressed by the mayor of the capital of the Chechen Republic Muslim Khuchiyev in an interview with “RIA Novosti”.

“Grozny residents would like to see watermarks on the symbol of the rebirth of the Republic — the mosque “Heart of Chechnya”. This choice is not accidental, because the Central mosque of Grozny is the pride of not only Chechens, but also Muslims throughout Russia”, — said Khuchiyev.

He said that tourists and business representatives will visit the mosque, which is the largest in Europe, during visits to Grozny. Khuchiyev said that “the mosque is already a visual symbol of the country.”

Yesterday, the Central Bank said that in Russia by the end of 2017 will appear on banknotes in denominations of 200 and 2,000 rubles. the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina explained that the issue of banknotes of new denominations will not affect the volume in circulation of cash. She added that the volume of the issue of new banknotes has not been determined, however the total volume of money in circulation will be maintained by removing the old bills from circulation.

This summer, the Central Bank jointly with one of the Federal channels will start the voting, in which residents of the country will determine which city will be depicted on the new banknotes.
