Officially confirmed the nationality of the Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko, convicted of preparation for terrorist attack in the Crimea. This is stated in the message on the website of the Ombudsman of Russia on human rights, published on Monday, April 11.

The conflict was as follows. Before his arrest, Sentsov and Kolchenko lived in the Crimea. In accordance with article 5 of the Treaty on making Crimea part of Russia they were considered citizens of the Russian Federation, as in the specified contract month has not officially declared about the renunciation of your Russian citizenship. However, they refused to use this possibility had not applied for the issue of Russian passports and, accordingly, the data of the passports have not received. Earlier the lawyer Kolchenko Svetlana Sidorkina told “Kommersant” that the question of nationality Sentsov and his associates may be an obstacle to their extradition to Ukraine. She explained to send them to Ukraine it is necessary to observe several conditions, including the presence of their Ukrainian citizenship. According to the 61st article of the Russian Constitution, Russian citizens cannot grant to another state.
