The head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has managed to turn the “black page” in the relationship. About it Yevkurov said during a press conference in Magas, Interfax reports.
“It’s good that we have this black page turned, and God grant that it won’t happen,” he said. The head of the Republic noted that he didn’t want to talk about who is most to blame, but believes that tensions in relations could affect the difficult circumstances and the intensity of terrorist activity in the region.
“I suspect, and incontinence both of us in different questions and statements. What would we have not evolved in the last years of the relationship, I respected him, and he me too. Thank God that’s all in the past”, he concluded.
Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Kadyrov commented on the appointment of the acting head of Chechnya, said that he was glad his appointment.
In early February, Kadyrov, speaking at the Congress of the followers of the Sufi stream of Islam in the mosque “Heart of Chechnya”, said that in Ingushetia are insufficient to effectively fight the militants, and mentioned two Ingush theologians. After that, representatives of non-governmental organizations of Ingushetia appealed to President Vladimir Putin with a request to evaluate the words of the head of Chechnya.
In January in Magas, was held the first bilateral meeting between Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and Ramzan Kadyrov. Later Kadyrov said that he had a conversation with Evkurova. “Agreed to collectively oppose any extremist events, including Wahhabism”, he said.
