In March 2016, the monthly inflation in Russia slowed to 0.5% (from 0.63% in February and 0.96% in January), annual — to 7.3%, the message of Rosstat. Thus, the inflation accumulated in the last calendar year was even lower growth in January—March 2015 (7.4 per cent). For the first quarter of 2016 consumer prices in Russia grew by 2.1%.
At the same items since the beginning of year has risen in price for 2,3%, food products (excluding fruits and vegetables) — 1.7%, and services — by 1.4%.
At the same time, in some regions the increase in prices was considerably above the average in Russia. For example, in Chukotka consumer prices in March 2016 grew by 1.9% due to the increase in the prices of food and non-food products by 2.3% and 2.2% respectively.
In Moscow consumer prices for March 2016 rose 0.6%, in St. Petersburg — 0.3%.
