Since April 1, Home Credit in Belarus has ceased to serve Bank card customers, said the representative of the press service of the Bank group Milan Tománek. The reason is the changing business model of the Bank.
As explained Tománek, the panel does not exclude that the status of the Home Credit Bank in Belarus will be changed to non-banking credit organization, which will focus on POS lending. “We are exploring options for modifying our business model to meet changes in the macroeconomic situation in Belarus. We therefore turn card business in Belarus. Customers in Belarus unavailable operations on the cards, but they can go to the office and to withdraw their funds or to use the Internet-Bank”, — said the representative of the press service.
The Home Credit group entered the market of the Republic of Belarus at the end of 2006 through the acquisition of “Lorobank”.
18 January 2016 on the site of the Belarusian Home Credit message appears on closing a number of offices “in connection with the change of the business model and the active development of remote customer service, as well as to optimize the cost of doing business”. In this case, the results of the October 1, 2015 (the last financial statements published on the website of the Bank) of the Belarusian “daughter” showed a profit of 70 892 million Belarusian rubles ($3.5 million). A year earlier the profit was less than — 25 395 million Belarusian rubles ($1.3 million).
In Russia, the Bank began to streamline costs in early 2015. So, from the first to the third quarter of last year the number of employees HCF Bank decreased from 31.3 to 17 thousand people. Office network HCF Bank since the beginning of the year decreased more than twice. If at the end of 2014 it consisted of 735 branches, by the end of the third quarter of 2015 only includes 334 offices.
