Russia and Egypt have agreed in short terms to solve a question on the resumption of flights between the countries. This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov after talks with foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh shoukry, reports TASS.
“We agreed to solve the problem of resumption of flight connections in the shortest possible time, while ensuring the highest standards of security for Russian citizens,” Lavrov said.
The foreign Minister also said that Russia will open this year, the Consulate General in Hurghada. He stressed that Moscow is interested in that “tourist destination, which was probably the most popular among the Russians remained the same.”
Shoukry noted that Egypt has taken “tough measures” to improve security at airports and on all international flights. “I hope that soon we will be able to resume direct flights between the two countries and to restore the volume of tourist flow from Russia to Egypt,” said shoukry.
